AOR00344 - Freedom of Rowing by Patrice Murphy
“The Freedom of Rowing” depicts a young woman from a lightweight eight at the Head of the Charles Regatta in 2003. Patrice was actually looking for women with braided hair to incorporate in a painting, when this young woman rowed by – braids flying out from under a red white and blue bandana. For a brief moment, the reflection in the water looked like an American flag. Patrice appreciated the patriotic sentiment – knowing first hand the sacrifices that military families face every day so that Americans can enjoy many Freedoms. Open Edition Giclee Print. Signed by artist.
